Authenticating Your Website in Yahoo! Site Explorer

Hi

Originally launched in 2005, Yahoo! Site Explorer was designed to promote feedback between website owners/webmasters; and the Yahoo! search staff. Looking to improve it's poor reputation for customer service, when responding to search and ranking inquiries or directory complaints; Yahoo! hoped this direct approach would inspire a change in public opinion.

Yahoo! Site Explorer continues to offer website owners/operators, a dependable interface for accessing the following valuable information; and webmaster services:

* Comprehensive list all sub-pages of a website domain, or path.
* Back-links (Yahoo calls them "in-links") for both website domains, and paths.
* Free single or bulk submission of websites, not yet indexed by the Yahoo! search engine. The bulk method of submission, requires that website owners/webmasters identify the location (URL) of an online text file; with the list of URLs to be submitted.
* Download up to 1000 search results in TSV format.

To further recognize all of the benefits of Yahoo! Site Explorer, webmasters/website owners must authenticate their website(s); with Yahoo!. This allows for continued viewing of detailed reports, which contain important information about each individual webpage; within the associated website(s). This SEO treasure includes:

* The last time your webpage was indexed by Yahoo! Slurp.
* The language of the page.
* A list sub-domains that Yahoo! has identified.
* RSS or Atom feed submission, and management.
* Automatic page update notification service, allows you to notify Yahoo! when webpages have been updated; encouraging a re-crawl.

In order to authentic a website, and demonstrate to Yahoo! that you are the website owner or webmaster; you should follow these steps:

1. Sign in to Yahoo! Site Explorer.
2. Enter the website URL, into the My Sites box, and then click the Add My Site button. The My Sites webpage will open.
3. Locate your website's URL, and then click the Authenticate button; next to your URL. This will open a verification page, complete with instructions on using the file upload; or a meta-tag verification method.

Once the verification page opens, you will need to select one of the two available verification methods; for authenticating website ownership:

To upload the verification file to your website:

1. Download the authentication key.
2. Upload the verification file to your website, at the root level of your website directory.
3. When the file is successfully uploaded, click the Ready to Authenticate button.

Or, you can add a meta-tag; to your Home page:

1. Copy the meta-tag and paste it in your website's Home page, in the first HEAD section of the webpage; before the first BODY section.
2. Once the meta-tag is added, click the Ready to Authenticate button.

Authenticating a website in Yahoo! Site Explorer, gives website owners/webmasters access to detailed information; pertaining to the over-all functionality of a specific website. In most cases, Yahoo! will authenticate website ownership; within twenty-four hours. To check the status of a website authentication, go to My Sites in Site Explorer and check the Status field; next to the desired URL. Once website authentication has been successful, website owners/webmasters can begin to build a closer relationship, between the website(s) they are optimizing; and the formidable Yahoo! search engine.

Benefits of Yahoo Domain Registration

If you're like many business owners, you want to get a web presence, but aren't entirely sure how the whole process works.

The first step is to find and register a domain name for your business. You may use Yahoo every day to search the Web, and fortunately, they've also made domain registration very simple. Yahoo Domains is popular among website owners all over the world because of the Internet giant's reliability and cost effectiveness. Yahoo also offers private registration, which allows you to hide your personal information from spammers and other malicious Web users who mine the domain registration (WHOIS) database for personal information.

When you register a domain name with Yahoo Domains, they also provide services to guide you through the process of building a standard website or an e-commerce site.

For important sites you don't want to leave to chance, Yahoo domain registration includes security measures to help prevent domain hijacking and other forms of abuse. You can also be assured that your private information will not be shared with third parties or individuals wanting to buy your registered domain name.

The domain name you choose is critical. It should be concise, memorable, and represent your business well. Unfortunately, many domain names are already registered by other site owners. In cases like this, Yahoo's domain registration process assists you in selecting an appropriate domain name for your site or business by suggesting available domain names based on slight variations of your initial request.

Even if you are on a limited budget, Yahoo domains are affordable, costing less than $20 per year for all top security and customer service features.

Branding - Marketing Using Twitter and Yahoo Answers

Many of you domain marketeers must have heard of domain branding using yahoo answers and twitter, but some of those guides on domains other than mine might be too long, so here is my version of domain branding using those 2 social networks.

Firstly, to brand a 'name', a person must be able to see that 'name' every way he goes. Lets take Coke as an example, suppose you have never heard of Coke before, but you see Coke banners everywhere, see people drinking Coke everyday, see convenience stores having their fridge full of Coke, one day you will sub-consciously be compelled to try this 'Coke' out right? Yep, and that's all about branding and marketing (in a really simple sense). There are many domain branding and marketing means on the internet that will do just that, and some examples are social networking platforms such as:

- social bookmarking (delicious, reddit, propeller and such)
- participating in domains and forums in your niche
- exchanging domain links with bloggers in your niche
- asking other bloggers in your niche to be a guest blogger on your domain

These means may prove to be useful to many, but look at yourself first: suppose if you are an owner of a big website company, you can just ask your fellow employees to do all the grinding right? But what if you are just a simple blogger just like me, I'm sure all of these tips many other websites suggested you to do may take you days to finish. So whats the simpler alternative?

- use yahoo answers and twitter,
and here is how (I will do it in point form most of the time)

Yahoo Answers:

- when registered, change your display name to the domain/company name you want to use (for me, its PoomDomain)
- start answering right away
- you can only answer like 20+ questions a day, because Yahoo Answers is smart, they know how to prevent spam
- so, just answer questions that is related to your niche, or just any other question
- and here is the part:
- every time you want to answer a question, there are 2 boxes, the 'answer' part and the 'source' part.
- answer the question in the 'answer' part, and then put a catching phrase with your domain URL at the source part
- and hope that those guys click it!

This way, the person who views your answer will be able to see your domain URL every time they go to that page, and if they see enough of it, they will sub-consciously be compelled to click it, because of curiosity. That's branding for Yahoo Answers, lets move on to Twitter

Twitter:

- lets you interact with any people registered to it, without initially knowing their email whatsoever
- register it right away, and change your display name to your domain/company name(as usual)
- start following people in your Niche by clicking on the 'find people', and then on the 'find on twitter' tab type in your niche, like for example if you like cooking, maybe you can type cooking there.
- a whole list of twitters will appear
- just follow everyone in your path
- its a twitter etiquette to follow a person who followed you, so most of the people who you followed will follow you back.
- it is also an etiquette for someone who you followed to send you a direct message to 'thank you for following me'
- and here is the part:
- when you have a lot of followers following you, just give them a 'thank you for following me' message, but instead of just a simple thank you, you write in your catch phrase and your domain URL.
- and hope that they will be attracted to click on your link

This way, you can market out your services through those short direct messages (tweets they call it), and then many more people will be coming to you site. For example, I may write 'thank you for the follow, you can go to my site if you are interested in cooking thai meals' and send it to those following me. When they get the message, if they are really interested to come to your domain.

Personal Experience With Yahoo Domains

I have been using Yahoo Domains (through Yahoo Small Business) for several years now, and I have to say that I am very satisfied with my experience with Yahoo. At the time that I chose my domain, there were only a few reputable registrars on the market, and I have seen many either spring up or become more popular since then (such as GoDaddy, for example).

One thing that is great about choosing Yahoo to register a domain is that they have been in business for over a decade with their search engine and other great products to service not only average consumers, but also small businesses and big businesses alike. Because they have a reputation for quality, it's easy to trust them as a domain registrar.

The thing I really like about Yahoo personally is that you can register your domain and maintain other aspects of your site's setup easily and effectively. To make things more enticing, Yahoo provides excellent 24/7 customer service and support, so you are never left in a lurch should you encounter any questions or problems.

Getting my domain was easy and straight-forward. I simply created my Yahoo Small Business account, searched for the domain that I was interested in securing - and it was available so I purchased it! For only like 10 bucks a year, you really can't go wrong. That may be a bit more than some of the competition but Yahoo makes it worthwhile with their additional services and features that they include with registering your domain through them.

You have a few options that vary in terms of cost, depending what you are trying to do with your Yahoo Small Business account. For example, if you want to simply register a domain and do basic things like redirects and so on (which I do, actually) you can do that with their most basic plan. However, if you're looking to do some more sophisticated things like basic or advanced website building, you can opt to pay either a little more for basic or a lot more for advanced services.

I like the flexibility of being able to upgrade my account if I choose to use Yahoo for more than just domain registration. That makes me sure that as my small business grows, I will be able to stay with Yahoo and upgrade as my updated budget allows.

Why Choose a Yahoo Domain Name?

New businesses looking to start their online website often look for the best way to register their domain name and come up with the best address for customers to access their website. One great way to accomplish this is to use the service available from Yahoo. Using the Yahoo Domain service is simple, low cost, and backed by the Yahoo website once you make your choice.

A domain name is an address for your website. The website address consists of a primary name and top level domain extension at the end of the address like.com,.net,.edu (for public schools), and.org. It is important to pick a good domain name that will attract business to your site and tie in with the type of service or product you are trying to sell online.

Businesses looking to register their domain name ideas can count on Yahoo to provide quality domain service at a low cost price. New customers can get the service for as little as $1.98 per year and that excludes set up fees for first time customers. They also provides a toll free number and online support for all of its Yahoo Domain customers. Since Yahoo is a popular site, setting up your domain name with their Yahoo Domain service can really be a positive for your business. Their experts are there to help you with any questions that you may have about the process and walk you through the whole process if needed. They can also help with additional services like web hosting or business solutions to help you grow your online business greatly.

Poor Credit Mortgage Refinance - Getting Approved

Because of low interest rates, many homeowners are opting to refinance their homes and cash-out at closing. The refinance process is similar to the procedure of obtaining the original mortgage. Homeowners must be approved by a lender and pay fees associated with acquiring a new loan - closing cost, title search, settlement fee, etc. Yet, there are benefits to refinancing a home. Homeowners may obtain a lower interest rate, which equals lower monthly payments. Moreover, refinancing a home for a shorter term allows the property to build equity quicker.

Benefits of Refinancing with Poor Credit

Refinancing a home with good or fair credit is less complicated. Persons with a good credit rating are qualified candidates, thus some lenders are more willing to compete for their business. Some homeowners with bad credit may hesitate to refinance. However, it is possible to refinance a home with poor credit. In fact, refinancing and receiving a lump sum of money at closing may help improve credit. Once funds are received, the homeowners could use money to pay off high interest credit cards and other consumer debt, which will boost credit ratings.

How to Get Approved?

Getting approved for a refinance with poor credit requires work and patience. There are "high risk" lenders willing to loan money. Nonetheless, before applying for a mortgage, homeowners should try and correct any blemishes on their credit report. This may include paying down the balance on credit cards or maintaining a current account standing with creditors.

Mortgage Brokers: Negotiating the Deal

Submitting a loan application to several different lenders is the key. These include local lenders and online lenders. It is recommended that homeowners receive at least three quotes. Mortgage brokers are highly effective because they have access to various lenders that specialize in granting loans to individuals with a poor credit rating. Brokers negotiate with these lenders to help an applicant obtain a loan that meets their needs. After a loan application is submitted to a mortgage broker, within 24 hours homeowners will receive multiple quotes from several different lenders who offer mortgages for poor credit. Multiple offers afford the opportunity to compare rates, and select the best offer.

Poor Credit Mortgage Refinance

Low rate of interest is the prime reason so many people are showing interest in mortgage refinancing. Today, exceeding number of homeowners are heading towards refinancing of home mortgages. People also run for those juicy cash-outs at the closing. Refinance as a process, is identical to the method of getting a mortgage for the first time.

Mortgage refinance calls for lender's approval. Also, a homeowner must pay fees related with the acquisition of the new loan. The common fee overheads are - closing cost, title searching and settlement fees. Still, there are substantial benefits tied with home refinancing.

Homeowners usually obtain a comparatively lower rate of interest, which usually equals lesser than total monthly payments. In addition, short term home refinancing can award the homeowner with faster growing equity.

Fortunately, yes! True, a good credit hardly faces any complications with home refinancing. Individuals with shining credit rating easily qualify for attractive rates. Thus most lenders would view them as lucrative clients, as these people tend to bring larger bite of businesses for them.

But on the other end of the spectrum, homeowners who suffer bad credit naturally hesitate to apply for refinance. But it really is viable for them to qualify for home refinancing despite their poor credit. Actually refinancing, as well as getting a large lump sump at closing might actually help these people improve their credit.

Once they get funds, these homeowners become capable of using that money for paying off credit cards with soaring interest. With this fund, the homeowner with poor credit may also get rid of other debts - which eventually boosts up his or her credit ratings.

What's the easy way for getting an approval?

For poor credit homeowners, getting approval for refinance application calls for some homework and patience. Even if the homeowner has pathetic ratings, there's almost always a hi-risk taker lender who'll gladly lend money.

However, prior to submitting an application for the mortgage refinance, homeowners must try to rectify blemishes (if any) on the credit report. This might require them to pay down their balance amount on their credit cards. Alternatively, they might be required to maintain current accounts arrangements with the creditors.

Mortgage Brokers: Deal

The prime task for the jeopardized homeowner would be to submit refinancing applications to multiple lenders. Here, both local and online lenders should be in consideration. This should be followed by thorough comparing of quotes and offers.
